Ground Breaking Ceremony for New Zorra Municipal and Child Care Centre

The Township of Zorra will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at the building site for the new Zorra Municipal and Child Care Centre. The new building will be located at 163 Brock Street, Thamesford, on the site of the former Maple Leaf Facility (formerly Cold Springs Farms Ltd.). This 19,250 square foot facility will house the new municipal office, as well as an 88-space daycare centre, and will be a hub for the Thamesford and Zorra community. Mayor Marcus Ryan noted “The new building will include roof top solar panels advancing our commitment to 100% renewable energy. It is projected that over its’ life that the new facility will cost residents less than the current building.”

Postal Disruption Notice

Canada Post mail service to and from the Township of Zorra may be interrupted due to the postal disruption. For time-sensitive documents, there is a 24-hour mail slot outside of the Zorra Municipal Centre located at 163 Brock Street in Thamesford.

Winter Parking Restrictions

Winter parking restrictions will be enforced every year from November 15th to March 31st. Parking is not permitted on any road or street from 1:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., seven (7) days a week during this period, as the streets need to be clear of vehicles in case of the need for snow removal. Any vehicle owner found in violation of this by-law could be fined or have their vehicle removed/towed at owners expense.
