This page is meant to be a resource for Real Estate Lawyers and Clerks when closing properties in Zorra. Most of the information on this page is obtained from other websites so we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the information. We hope that these links provided will assist in obtaining information required for real estate transactions.
Fees associated with various searches can be paid by cheque payable to Township of Zorra, 163 Brock Street, PO Box 189, Thamesford Ontario N0M 2M0. We do not accept credit card payments. HST is included in all search fees. We also accept etransfers to: accountsreceivable@zorra.ca. When sending an etransfer please be sure to note what the payment is for.
Standard turnaround time for most requests is seven to ten days. There is an additional fee of $42.00 for any urgent request that is required within two business days.
Building/Zoning searches can be requested to confirm the following information for a property purchase/sale/etc.
- Outstanding work orders
- Outstanding by-law orders
- Subdivision clearance
- Municipal drains
- Zoning for a property

The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority is one of 36 Conservation Authorities in the Province of Ontario. They have jurisdiction over 3,430 square kilometres in southwestern Ontario, including the Township of Zorra. Development Charges were updated to reflect charges that took effect on April 1, 2023. These charges were finalized with the passing of By-law 30-24 on June 19, 2024. Occupancy permits are issued upon substantial completion of a new building project. A fee may be applicable if a replacement copy is required.
Contact the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) to find out if there are any open electrical notifications on the property. These are outstanding notifications to correct any defects. By law, the buyer assumes responsibility for doing this. We will provide Fire Department Searches as follows:
Fire Inspection Report
This is a search of the property file for any fire-related activity pertaining to the property. The fee for this report is $158.00.
If a physical inspection is required, the fee is $106.00 per visit for each staff member needed in attendance.
Fire Incident Report
A fire incident report is a summary of activity from an incident that was attended by Zorra Fire & Emergency Services. Signed owner authorization is required for these searches and the fee is $250.00.
Turnaround time for most fire reports is seven to ten business days. A rush request may be available for an additional fee of $42.00, based on staff availability.
There are currently no properties in the Township of Zorra that are designated as Heritage properties.
Public Health Services in Zorra are provided by Southwestern Public Health.
