Notice of Passing of the Residential Parkland Dedication By-law

TAKE NOTICE THAT on December 20, 2023, the Council of the Township of Zorra passed By-law 57-2023, being a by-law to amend By-law 52-2019, as amended, establishing requirements of parkland conveyance provisions for the Township of Zorra pursuant to the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter P.13, as amended.

By-law 57-2023 took effect on December 20, 2023.

AND TAKE NOTICE THAT any person or organization may appeal the Residential Parkland Dedication by-law to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) pursuant to Section 42 of the Planning Act, 1990, by filing a written notice of appeal with the Township Clerk, Township of Zorra, 274620 27th Line, RR 3, Ingersoll, Ontario N5C 3J6 no later than 4:00 p.m. on JANUARY 29, 2024, setting out the objection to the by-law and the reasons supporting the objection.

By-law 57-2023, provides that as a condition of development or redevelopment of land for residential purposes, require that land be conveyed to the municipality for park or other public recreational purposes at a rate specified in By-law 57-2023, and applies upon all lands within the boundaries of the Township of Zorra as shown on the map on page 2 of this notice.

Postal Disruption Notice

Canada Post mail service to and from the Township of Zorra may be interrupted due to the postal disruption. For time-sensitive documents, there is a 24-hour mail slot outside of the Zorra Municipal Centre located at 163 Brock Street in Thamesford. 

A regular instalment of taxes is due on October 31, 2025. Property owners are responsible for ensuring payments are received at our office by the due date in order to avoid a penalty. Please visit our Finance page for payment options.
