Policy 500-03 Grants to Local Cemeteries Operators
The purpose of this policy is to establish fair and equitable process for dealing with annual funding requests from owners/operators of non-municipally and municipally owned active and non-active cemeteries in the Township of Zorra. Also to provide staff guidance for decision making consistent with the Township’s By-laws, agreements and as prescribed in provincial statute.
Cemetery Operators are encouraged to review the policy before submitting an application. All required documentation must be submitted by September 15th, in order to be considered in the budget for the following year.
Policy 500-11 School Bus Grants
Each local school in the Township is qualified to receive up to $500 annually to be used towards busing for field trips within the Township of Zorra, in addition to funds to cover transportation costs for the Local Government Week activities at the Township.
Application forms can be submitted throughout the year, a minimum of three weeks prior to the field trip.
We offer three different grant streams:
General Operation
The General Operating Grant is an opportunity for local community groups to receive grant funding to continue offering their services to the community. This grant stream offers a total annual budget maximum of $10,000.00, with $2,000.00 maximum per group/request.
Local Minor Sports Grant
The Local Minor Sports Grant is an opportunity for local minor sports organizations to receive grant funding to assist them in offering their services to the community. This grant stream offers each local minor sports organization funding of $500.00 annually.
Lakeside Triathlon Fund
The Lakeside Triathlon Fund is the funding received from MultiSport Canada as part of their consideration for the Triathlon Lakeside they organize annually. This funding is earmarked for community projects within the triathlon area of Lakeside and can be accessed through the grant process laid out below. This grant stream offers a total annual budget maximum of $2,000.00, if the fund has sufficient balance to accommodate. The fund balance cannot be in a deficit.
Due date
Regardless of the stream, all applications must be submitted by September 15th, in order to be considered in the budget for the following year.
Applicants are encouraged to review Policy 500-14 before submitting a Community Grant application.
Capital projects will no longer be initiated through the grant process. All capital projects will be prioritized based on the Townships’ Strategic Plan, Recreation, Arts, and Culture Master Plan, and the annual budget.
